This statement tells you what happens to your data when you visit our shop, send an enquiry or place an order. It is written so that it can be read without legal training.

We are not required to appoint a data protection officer and have not done so.
The essentials first
- To visit the shop we need nothing from you. No account, no registration, no e-mail address.
- We pass your order and enquiry data only to the parties needed for processing: payment providers, carriers, invoicing software, tax adviser.
- We do not sell data. Data for visitor and advertising measurement are transmitted only with your consent.
- Videos from YouTube or Vimeo are loaded only when you click on them.
If you only browse the shop
Our pages are hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. The servers that deliver and compute our pages are located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. When a page is requested, technical logs are created there containing your IP address, date and time, the requested address and details of browser and operating system. We need these logs for operation and security; they are deleted automatically after a short time and are not combined with other data.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning shop (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Vercel is a US company; the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework apply to the data transfer.
We serve our fonts ourselves. When you visit our pages, no connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party server unless you start a video or proceed to payment.
Cookies and similar storage
The technically necessary storage of the shop includes:
- pbk_warenkorb remembers what is in your basket and which equipment you have configured. Expires after 30 days.
- pbk_preise remembers whether you want to see net or gross prices. Expires after one year.
- pbk_sprache remembers your language choice. Expires after one year.
- pbk_einwilligung remembers your decision in the consent banner. Expires after one year.
This storage contains no information about you personally. No consent is required for necessary storage; the legal basis is Section 25 (2) No. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
Analytics and advertising (only with consent)
If you agree in the consent banner, we measure how our shop is used and recognise whether an enquiry or order resulted from an advertisement. For this we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
- As long as you have not consented, no Google script is loaded and nothing is transmitted to Google.
- You can change your decision at any time: the “Privacy settings” switch is at the bottom of every page.
- No names, addresses or e-mail addresses are sent to Google. For a completed order we transmit the order number and the amount, for an enquiry only the event “enquiry sent”, so that we can see which advertisement led to a purchase or enquiry.
- Google may also process these data in the USA. The basis is the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. If no consent banner appears, no measurement takes place.
Videos from YouTube and Vimeo
On some pages we show videos, for example of laser cutting in our factory or of assembling a photo booth. These videos are hosted by YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland) and Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001, USA). Initially we embed only a preview image from our own server. Only when you click the preview image is the provider’s player loaded; the provider then receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. We point this out before the click. The legal basis is your consent given by the click (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG); you can withdraw it at any time by revoking the release in the privacy settings.
If you send an enquiry
Via the enquiry and contact form we process your name, e-mail address, if applicable telephone number, company and country, the system you are interested in and your message. We use these details to answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, pre-contractual measure). The enquiry is stored in our database and forwarded to us by e-mail. Enquiries that do not result in a contract are deleted no later than twelve months after the last communication; if a contract is concluded, the retention periods under “If you order” apply.
If you order
For an order we need: first and last name, billing and delivery address, e-mail address, telephone number (for the carrier to arrange the delivery date), if applicable company name and VAT identification number, the goods ordered including equipment, the chosen payment and delivery method and the amount.
We use these data to perform the contract with you (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR): manufacture, dispatch, invoice, answer queries, handle warranty claims, send software licence data.
If you provide a VAT identification number, we check it automatically via the European Commission’s VAT Information Exchange System (VIES). The number and our own identification are transmitted; we store the result as evidence for the VAT-exempt supply.
Orders are stored in a database of the provider Neon Inc. with servers in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Files you send us for branding are stored in Vercel’s file storage (Frankfurt region).
We must retain invoices and accounting records under commercial and tax law: invoices for ten years, commercial letters such as order confirmations for six years (Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code, Section 257 of the German Commercial Code). The associated data are retained for that period even if you no longer order from us. After the periods expire we delete the data.
Payment
Depending on how you pay, another company is involved:
- Credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna: Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. You enter your payment details directly with Stripe; we never see them. We only receive confirmation of whether the payment succeeded. With Klarna the payment is additionally processed by Klarna Bank AB, Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden; Klarna carries out its own checks for the payment decision under its privacy policy.
- PayPal and PayPal Pay in Instalments: PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, 2449 Luxembourg. You enter your login details only with PayPal. If you choose instalments, PayPal carries out a credit check under its own terms; we only receive notification that payment has been made.
- Prepayment (bank transfer): then we transmit nothing; your payment runs via your bank and our bank. Your name and order number appear on the bank statement.
We load the payment providers only when you proceed to checkout and select a payment method. The legal basis is performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
Invoice
We create invoices with easybill GmbH, Düsselstraße 21, 41564 Kaarst, Germany. For this we transmit your billing address, if applicable VAT identification number, the items ordered and the amount. easybill processes these data on our behalf.
Shipping
For shipping we pass your name, the delivery address and, if a freight forwarder delivers, your telephone number or e-mail address to the carrier. Depending on the size of the goods this is DHL, DPD or a freight forwarder. The forwarder needs the telephone number to arrange a delivery date with you; without it a photo booth on a pallet cannot be delivered.
E-mails about your enquiry and order
Acknowledgement of receipt, order confirmation, payment and dispatch confirmation, licence data and replies to enquiries are sent via the mail server of our provider ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The server is located in Germany. These messages are part of the contract or enquiry; we do not send a newsletter.
Reviews
A few days after dispatch we invite you by e-mail to review your purchase. This is direct marketing for our own similar goods and is permitted under Section 7 (3) of the German Act against Unfair Competition without separate consent. Every invitation contains an unsubscribe link; after that we do not write to you again.
If you review, we publish your stars, your text, a display name of your choice and, if you upload one, your photo. We never publish your e-mail address. We look at every review before publication. How we ensure that reviews come from genuine buyers is explained on the page Authenticity of reviews. Review photos are stored in Vercel’s file storage (Frankfurt region). You can withdraw a review at any time; just write to us.
If you withdraw from the contract
If, as a consumer, you declare withdrawal via the withdrawal function on our website, we store your details (name, contact address, order number or description of the goods, time of receipt) permanently in order to prove and process the withdrawal (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (c) GDPR, Section 356a BGB). You receive confirmation of receipt by e-mail without delay. These data are subject to the same retention periods as the order.
If you write to us or call
If you send us an e-mail or call us, we process your details to deal with your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). We keep such messages for as long as necessary for the matter and beyond that where statutory retention periods apply.
No automated decisions
We make no decisions about you solely by computer, create no profile and carry out no credit check. Credit decisions for PayPal Pay in Instalments or Klarna are made by the respective payment provider under its terms.
Your rights
You have the following rights against us:
- Access to the data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), unless a retention obligation prevents it
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent given, at any time with effect for the future
