Manufacturer: aluminium photo booths made in Greiz
fexon develops and manufactures aluminium photo booth housings at its own factory in Greiz, Thuringia, Germany. For more than ten years we have supplied photo booths to more than 1,000 customers across Europe, and under the fexobox brand we run our own rental fleet in which every model is in continuous use. Buying from us means buying from the manufacturer: no middlemen, with spare parts from the same workshop where the booth was made.
Why buy from the manufacturer?
A photo booth is a capital item that stays in service for years. From the manufacturer you get three things a dealer cannot offer: first, we know every screw because we design and build the housings ourselves. Second, we supply spare parts and upgrades even for models built years ago, because the drawings are with us. Third, we test every change in our own rental business before it goes on sale. What does not work in everyday rental, we do not sell.
How your photo booth is made
1. Design in 3D CAD
Every housing is designed entirely on the computer. This ensures all parts fit together, ventilation paths for computer, printer and flash are calculated, and improvements flow directly into the next production batch.
2. Laser cutting
The blanks are cut from aluminium sheet on our laser cutting system. The laser cuts outer contours, cut-outs for screen, camera and connectors, and ventilation openings in one pass with high repeatability. The video on our home page shows our system cutting.
3. Bending
On a CNC press brake the blanks are bent into housing parts. The bends give the thin aluminium its rigidity: that is why the Photobooth Ready weighs 22 kg at 130 cm height and carries screen, computer, camera and printer.
4. Powder coating and foil
The parts are powder-coated, i.e. electrostatically covered with colour powder and baked. The surface is more scratch- and impact-resistant than wet paint and withstands years of transport. On request we wrap the housing in wood effect or with your branding; custom RAL colours are available for the Natty and Profy.
5. Fitting the electronics
In Greiz we fit computer, touchscreen, camera, flash, printer and cabling and install the dslrBooth Professional software with your basic settings. Brackets and special parts are made on our own 3D printer.
6. Testing and dispatch
Before dispatch every booth is switched on, calibrated and checked with test photos: touchscreen, camera, flash, printer, sharing. It is then packed in its transport case or on a pallet and delivered within 5 to 10 working days.
The rental fleet as a field test
Under the fexobox brand we have rented photo booths to private and corporate customers for years. The same systems you buy from us travel with us week after week to weddings, trade fairs and company parties. This operation is the source of the answers in the help centre, the camera settings in the handout and the improvements to the housings, such as the Natty’s plug-in frame or the magnetic rear panels. This is described in the article How a fexon photo booth is made.
