Your situation and suitable systems
Photo booth rental operators need a system that one person can transport alone, set up in ten minutes and run for years without failures. That is why we build the Photobooth Ready (from €3,040, 22 kg, aluminium housing) and the Photobooth Selphy shipping booth (from €2,190) in Greiz, both in service for more than ten years in our own fexobox rental fleet and with rental operators across Europe (prices as of October 2026, incl. VAT).
Your situation
You are starting a rental business or adding a second booth. Your customers are wedding couples, birthday guests, clubs and companies; bookings are usually for four to six hours with unlimited shots and prints. Three things decide your profit: how fast you set up and dismantle, how little media is used per photo, and how rarely the technology fails. A housing that shows chipped edges and scratches after one season costs you bookings.
Two systems for rental operators
Photobooth Ready 1.1, €3,040: the benchmark for mobile rental operators. 23-inch touchscreen, i5 mini PC with Windows 11, dslrBooth Professional pre-installed, 130 × 50 × 50 cm, 22 kg without printer, fits into any small car. A Canon EOS 2000D or 200D camera, studio flash with beauty dish and a DNP DS620, Citizen CX2 or Sinfonia CS2 printer are added in the configurator. With the transport case the booth is loaded in four lifts.
Photobooth Selphy shipping booth, €2,190 without electronics, €2,990 complete: the booth for rental without travel. Tablet, webcam, LED continuous light and built-in Canon Selphy printer; the customer receives the booth by parcel, sets it up following a video guide and sends it back. This lets you serve customers nationwide without journeys or evening appointments.
As a third booth, the Photobooth Mirror for upmarket weddings is often added later; all systems are listed in the photo booth comparison.

Example calculation (assumptions, not an offer): Photobooth Ready with EOS 2000D camera, studio flash, DNP DS620 printer and transport case: €6,879. At a rental price of €500 per event and 300 prints (around €51 of media), about €449 remain per event before travel, tax and insurance. After 16 events the purchase is earned back; with 25 bookings a year the contribution margin in the first year is around €4,300, from the second year more than €11,000. How many events can a Photobooth Ready withstand?
The powder-coated aluminium housing is designed for everyday rental with weekly transport; our own fleet has used the same systems for years. Wear parts are printer media, USB cables and, if required, the camera shutter; all parts can be replaced individually.
Can I rent the booth to customers without attending?
Yes. The Photobooth Selphy is built for exactly that: it is shipped by parcel and the customer sets it up following the instructions. The Ready is also often placed unattended; the dslrBooth start screen explains the procedure, and you monitor the booth via the Booth Copilot app.
Do I need a new print layout for every wedding?
A new layout with names and date is created in a few minutes in the dslrBooth template editor; no graphics program is needed. Many rental operators work with five to ten templates that they adapt for each client.
