What do printers and media cost separately?

If you buy the printer separately or add it later, the DNP DS620 costs €1,490, the Citizen CX2 €1,299 and the Sinfonia CS2 €1,199. Running costs arise almost entirely from print media:

Media kitPricePrintsCost per photo
DNP DS620, 10 × 15 cm€139800approx. €0.17
Citizen CX2, 10 × 15 cm€149800approx. €0.19
Sinfonia CS2, 10 × 15 cm€129600approx. €0.22
Canon Selphy RP-108 (10 cartridges)€2691,080approx. €0.25

Cost per photo is calculated from price and number of prints; shipping is not included. The guide Which photo printer for a photo booth? explains which printer model pays off.

Which running costs are added?

  • Software: the dslrBooth licence is included with complete systems and is permanent; updates are included in the first year. After that the installed version keeps running, an update subscription is optional (according to the developer around 17 US dollars per month with annual payment, as of January 2026).
  • Transport: cases from €249 (Selphy) via €649 (Natty) and €1,399 (Ready) to €1,890 (Profy, two parts). Two flight cases are included with the Mirror.
  • Accessories: LED ring €149, wireless buzzer €149, backdrop system from €99, backdrop fabrics from €159.
  • Power and wear: negligible; aluminium housing and powder coating are designed for everyday rental use.

How do you finance a photo booth?

PayPal Pay in Instalments is available in the shop: according to PayPal Germany for order values from €99 to €10,000 in 3, 6, 12 or 24 monthly instalments, subject to PayPal’s credit check (as of 29 October 2026). We also accept card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna and prepayment, see payment methods. For amounts above €10,000 or leasing we prepare a quotation on request.

Is buying worthwhile compared with renting?

With rental prices of €300 to €800 per event, a Photobooth Ready in the example configuration has paid for itself after about seven to eleven uses (example calculation with a €500 rental price, excluding travel and staff costs). The detailed comparison is in the guide Rent or buy a photo booth, the systems in detail in the photo booth comparison.

Which hidden costs are there not?

With our systems there are no licence fees per event, no compulsory subscriptions and no fees for sharing photos. The online albums via fotoshare.co are part of the dslrBooth licence. Spare parts such as doors, rear panels or tripod mounts are supplied from Greiz at individual prices; a tripod mount for the Ready costs €45, for example, a Ready door without iPad cut-out €90. As for VAT: business customers in the EU with a valid VAT ID and customers in Switzerland order net; private customers in Austria, Italy, France, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic pay their own country’s VAT on the fixed net price.

Example configurations with total price

Three typical set-ups, each including VAT and excluding shipping (as of October 2026):

Trade fair and marketingProfy, EOS 2000D, DNP DS-RX1, case A+B€11,080

The range between €3,239 and €11,080 shows that the price of a photo booth is determined less by the housing than by printer, camera and transport solution. If you start with a smaller budget, printer and case can be added later; all options are also available individually in the shop.
